Project: building habits and skills

I created and am currently testing a system to increase my productivity. I am done with wasting my time on distractions (outside of my current job). The goal of this project is to build habits and skills. It is a form that you simply have to fill, there are several steps that you need to follow.

Here is an example filled, and you can find an empty form below that you can copy and fill yourself.

1st step: Write down your goal. What do you want to achieve?

Create Illustration-pages : 3 poses of a Fanart or Original Character, colored. Create Doujinshis. No references.

2nd step: Frequency of release. How often do you think you can deliver a product?

1 week or less: a finished Illustration-page. 3 weeks or less: a doujinshi.

3rd step: Weekly planning. No need to plan everyday, but a weekly goal is the way to go. Because there will be days where you'll be tired.

4th step: Execution. When you come back from work, school, have free time, if you feel like you need it, eat something or take a nap (max 30 min) : it will reload your willpower. Define a workflow that you will do every day:

➜ 15 min warmup. Anything related to your goal. No distractions: I draw anything from my mind. I usually start with the eyes, and improvise an haircut, and the whole body.

➜ Make progress on weekly goal, use The Do it or Do Nothing Rule: Small tasks such as sketching a pose for a frame, writing the text, making progress on a page..

➜ At the end, check what is done and what needs to be done tomorrow: I Use a google docs table where I write everything that needs to be done, ideas I could forget, etc.

It is okay if a task takes more time than planned. We CANNOT plan perfectly at the first time. However, it is still better than no planning. If you aim for the Moon and miss, you will still have more chances to reach the clouds.
